Beef is available in bulk by buying a "share" of a cow.
Buying a share of a cow or joining our Grocery CSA allows our customers to save significantly on beef and have it custom processed. It also provides your family with a consistent supply of high quality meat.
Beef is generally available in halves and quarter shares of a cow. You can also choose to "cowpool" and save on your beef. Click here to find out more about cowpooling.
Our cows are priced by hanging weight. Hanging weight is what the cows weighs after it has been quartered. This will not be the weight of actual beef, as some weight will be lost in trimming.
A quarter share wil last a family of four 4-6 months. Families that eat at home or entertain frequently may want to opt for a larger share. Most people find that once they have healthy, high quality food at home, they use it more frequently.
If you would like to have your beef cut according to your specifications, please order a half share. Quarter shares are all processed with Cox Family preferred cuts (what we use at home.) See below for details.
Quarter shares cost $4.99/lb hanging weight. A quarter share is typically 100-125 lbs. hanging weight and costs between $499-623.75.
If you purchase a quarter share, you will receive Cox Family Farms preferred cuts. This includes:
As each beef is different, it is difficult to predict exactly what will be in a quarter share but GENERALLY 40% is ground beef, 30% roasts, 15% steak and 15% other cuts (ribs, stew meat, etc.)

Half shares cost $4.79/lb hanging weight. A half share typically weighs between 200-250 lbs. and costs between $958 - $1197.50. YOU WILL CHOOSE EXACTLY HOW YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR BEEF CUT. We will email you a form to make your selections but some choices will be as follows:

Please remember, prices quoted are for hanging weight. THIS IS NOT THE WEIGHT IN YOUR FREEZER. It's fairly close, but some weight will be lost in processing. This weight will vary, depending on the beef and the processor. We have gone to great lengths to make sure our processor is giving every customer the maximum amount of beef. This is why there is sometimes a wait for you beef. We only deal with highly qualified, reputable processors.
